Metro Exodus for the Xbox One (which is priced at Rs 39,990) has been canceled for India. In the past, both the Metro Exodus on PS4 and Xbox One had been listed for a release in India. But the latest report suggested that entry in the post-apocalyptic shooter series will make it to the PS4 only. The Metro Exodus PS4 (priced at Rs. 3,499) will be available on specialist retailer Games The Shop only. The game won’t even be available for pre-order on Amazon India or Flipkart, and this doesn’t come as a surprise since Games The Shop has mostly been a very proactive game retailer among all the others.
This isn’t the first time that one of the games of Xbox One hasn’t made it to be released in India. Xbox One exclusives like Below hadn’t been released in the country. Even indie darlings Firewatch and Virginia weren’t purchased by Indian Xbox One owners. The biggest game of 2018, Fortnite also isn’t accessible on the Xbox One. Fortnite Battle Royale can’t be downloaded via the India Microsoft Store and the Fortnite Save the World can’t be purchased as well.
The only way users can play Fortnite Battle Royale in India without changing the regions on Microsoft Store is to buy the Fortnite Deep Freeze Bundle for Xbox One which comes with the game. In the past, Dead Rising 4 didn’t release in India but was available on the Xbox One and Sonic Mania.
The demands for the Xbox One X has been steady, and this was confirmed by retailers. It certainly looks like an odd decision that Metro Exodus won’t be released in India. They can be best played on the Xbox One X and the PC version of the game requires an extremely powerful PC. It looks like this has something to do with the pricing of the games, which costs Rs. 2,900 digitally on the Microsoft Store a possible retail disc price of Rs. 3,499.
