“I think we require to construct on and improve some of the positive work that has occurred at city hall over the past 8 years, and I am thrilled by the prospect of hearing from candidates both for mayor but also for the members of council on how they resume constructing a city in which we can all be proud to call home,” stated Bowman at a news conference on Thursday when asked about the election. Koop described, “Voters do not always have as much to work with, and so what does make a difference in name recognition. So if you are an incumbent, that is a big advantage, but also if you have got some name recognition if you are a councilor, provincial politician, even if you are some kind of local celebrity.” 2 other Winnipeggers also put their name in the race of the mayor Sunday morning- Chris Clacio and Don Woodstock.
