The driver ultimately crashed into a fence close to the 1300 block of North Quincy Road and tried to run away on foot prior to he being eventually detained. The driver was detained and identified as 22-years-old Juan Francisco Ibarra-Tapia of Livingston. Investigating officers recovered the murder weapon he reportedly used.

Cops allege he also shot at two employees at O’Reilly Auto Parts along Geer Road. The employees were not wounded, but investigating officers stated it was not a random shooting.
Following the incident, Tapia has been charged with numerous felonies that include, 1 count of murder, 2 counts of attempted murder, 2 counts of firearm discharge in the commission of a felony, and 1 count of evasion. He was taken to the Stanislaus County Jail and is being held sans bail. Lt. Neil Cervenka, the mouthpiece for the police department said that “These are the cases we wish we could have done something to prevent, and all we can do now is our absolute best to ensure that family sees justice.”
