Her father owned a small textile business but it was highly successful. Her mother was a homemaker. She also had two brothers- Tony and Hugh. Her birth name is Hillary Diane Rodham. In her school days, she used to be a favorite student among the teachers.

In 1965, she attended Wellesley College where she studied political science and gained a graduation degree. Later, she also studied law at Yale Law School. She was on the editorial board of the Yale Review of Law and Social Action in his law school. While studying law, she also worked at the Yale Child Study Center. On 11 October 2021, she tied the knot with Bill Clinton whom she met when she was studying at Yale University. On 27 February 1980, the couple welcomed their first child whom they named Chelsea. The couple has become the grandparents of their son’s three children.
