According to the reports, Paul Smart has died in a road traffic crash on Wednesday afternoon (27 October) when he was riding his motorbike in East Sussex and Kent. His death news was confirmed by the British Superbike Championship of Bennett on social media platforms. They wrote, “We are saddened by the news that Paul Smart lost his life in a road traffic collision today while riding his motorcycle. Paul was a hugely popular character in and out of the paddock.” All his known ones are paying soulful tribute to him by posting his pictures and video on the Internet.


Who was Paul Smart?

Talking about Paul Smart, so he was an English short circuit motorbike road racer who was born on 23 April 1943. He joined  Grands Prix. He began his career in racing in the early 1960s when he attended the Charles Mortimer Race School at Brands Hatch race circuit in 1965. Firstly, he bought Bultaco which was extremely expensive and unreliable. Later, he rid several of machinery in different classes on the UK short-circuits. He has won 250 cc class at the Stars of Tomorrow meeting on 03 July 1966 at Mallory Park.

In 1967, He made a second place at the Isle of Man TT Races on Norton for Paul Dunstall and in 1969, he again place second position in the Production 750 cc class. He gained popularity after winning the Imola 200 on April 23, 1972. In the 70s, he also competed in Grands Prix and earned second place in the categories 250 ccs and 350 ccs by riding Yamaha machinery. He was married to Maggie who is the sister of a popular racer Barry Sheene. He had one son named Scott who is a former Grand Prix racer. He has won several raches in British Superbike Championship after that he turned to Superstock. Paul Smart left the world on 27 October 2021 in a motorbike crash.
