General Bipin Rawat tied the knot with Madhulika Rawat. She was the president of the Army Wives Welfare Association and was actively involved in social services. Madhulika Rawat was a native of Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. She got married to Bipin Rawat in 1986. The couple had two beautiful daughters together. Their one daughter lives in Mumbai, while another one stays with them. She completed her schooling at Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya in Gwalior. She gained her graduation degree from Delhi University in psychology.

Madhulika Rawat’s husband Bipin Rawat was the captain in the Army when they got married. Her family is currently living in the ancestral residence “Rajabagh” in the Shahdol district headquarters. Madhulika’s father Mrighendra  Singh was also a Congress MLA from the district in 1967 and 1972, he was also the Riyasatdar of Shahdol district’s Sohagpur Riyasat.

The minister of Chhattisgarh minister TS Singhdeo expressed his heartfelt condolences on social media, he tweeted, “Madhulika Ji, wife of Late Gen Bipin Rawat was a close family associate. She was the daughter of Late Shri Mrigendra Singh Ji of Suhagpur(MP) and used to visit us often in Bhopal. My heart goes out to their families. May they find the strength to deal with this unimaginable loss.”

On Wednesday, General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were on board the Mi-17V5 that crashed in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor. 13 people have died in that crash. As per the sources, Mr. Rawat was going to Defence Services Staff College to deliver a lecture. Just minutes before reaching the destination, the helicopter crashed. As we all know that recently, a helicopter crash happened in which 13 people were killed including the Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat. It was heartbreaking news for the whole nation. Bipin Rawat was a respected and well-known military officer. His demise has come out as a big loss to the whole nation. As per the sources, the cremation of Chief Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and his wife will be held on 10 December (Friday) in Delhi Cantonment. Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat were killed in the military helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. Bipin Rawat was on board the Mi-17V5 with his wife, he was going to deliver a lecture in Wellington at Defence Services Staff College. The helicopter crash happened minutes before reaching the destination. As soon as the news of the crash broke out, everyone was shocked and praying for everyone’s safety but the crash was really fatal and took the lives of 13 people.

As per the news reports, the remains of the CDS and his wife Madhulika are expected to reach Delhi on a military plane on 09 December (Thursday). The bodies will be taken to Rawat’s residence in the national capital on Friday, where people will be allowed to pay last respect to him at 11 am-2 pm. Later, a funeral procession will be left from Kamraj Marg to Brar Square crematorium in Delhi Cantonment.

Apart from CDS Rawat and his wife, there are 11 other people who were killed in the crash and those names are Military Adviser to the Chief of Defence Staff Brig LS Lidder, staff office Lt Col Harjinder Singh, Sqn Ldr K Singh, Naik Gursewak Singh, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar, Naik Jitender Kumar, Lance Naik Sai Teja, Wg Cdr PS Chauhan, JWO Pradeep A, JWO Das, and Havaldar Satpal. Alone survivor Group Captain Varun Singh is admitted to the military hospital in Wellington. A total of 14 people were travelling on the military helicopter that was crashed on Wednesday and killed 13 people. Several people are paying tribute to him on social media by posting his pictures.
