Betty White took birth on 17 January in 1922 and got wedded three times in her life her first marriage was in 1945 with Dick Barker but they could not walk together for long and get separated in the same year. Dick Barker was a fighter pilot and met Betty White when she was serving in the American Women’s Voluntary Service (AWVS) and he also worked in World War II and Betty White served as a truck driver and delivered essential commodities to the army in the Hollywood Hills.

And White also spent time with Barker on his rural Ohio chicken farm after their wedding after the span of four months White came back to Los Angeles to continue her acting career.

Betty White, popularly known as the First Lady of Television, was America’s love. As she frequently stated in her acceptance speeches, White’s true calling in life was acting in an industry she cherished. White, on the other hand, had a lot of love in her heart. She had three husbands, but her third husband, Allen Ludden, was the love of her life. According to TMZ, Betty White died on December 31, 2021, at the age of 99.

  1. Her husband named Allen Ludden was known for hosting the Game Show Password

Allen Ludden was a well-known game show host in the entertainment world. According to the New York Times, he is best known for his work as the host of Password, which he began in 1960. When a new version, Password Plus, premiered in 1979, Ludden returned for 160 additional episodes. Because of the show, Ludden met White. She was a celebrity participant on Password in 1961 and stated she was immediately drawn to Ludden. In a 2018 PBS episode on White, she was seen flirting with Ludden in a video from Password. When he inquired about her summer plans, White reacted with a cheeky, “Well, what did you have in mind, Allen?”

Before doing his first job, Ludden’s first major gig was the host of G.E. College Bowl on CBS. It was a trivia competition in which students from several colleges competed for scholarships. In the years 1959 to 1962, Ludden hosted eight programs. According to the Television Academy Foundation, he departed College Bowl in order to focus full-time on Passwords.

2. During WWII Ludden put on shows for troops in the Pacific & After The War, he began hosting gigs.

Ludden was born on October 5, 1917, in Wisconsin. His father died during the influenza epidemic in 1919. His mother married again and Ludden officially changed his last name to that of his stepfather, biographer David Baber wrote in Television Game Show Hosts: Biographies of 32 Stars. When Ludden was at 9, the family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas.

3. Ludden Married in High School, with Margaret McGloin in 1943 but unfortunately passed away from Cancer in 1961

When Ludden graduated from high school in 1934. He took a year off before starting college in 1936, at his stepfather’s urging. During those two years off, he worked as a salesman. Meanwhile, McGloin was a student at Corpus Christi Junior College. Before WWII, Ludden had completed his education and worked as a high school teacher. He joined the army and was stationed in Fargo, North Dakota, for basic training. He proposed to McGloin and they married on October 11, 1943, just before he left for the Pacific. Ludden and McGloin had two daughters, Martha and Sarah, and one son, David. McGloin died on October 30, 1961, after a long fight with cancer. She was only 45 years old at the time.

Ludden began doing the show Password when his wife was dying of cancer, according to White in a 2010 interview. He’d arrive on set after paying a visit to his wife in the hospital. McGloin died the same week White first appeared on the game show, according to White, who discovered out years later.
