His websites reveal that he has been a promising scholar who has already had multiple publications and projects to his name, Manhattan’s Borough President, Gale Brewer has written “I have learned with a profound sadness about the death of a young man, Davide Giri, a graduate student whose life was taken from us too soon. He was killed not far from where Tessa Majors was killed also. I thank the NYPD for their quick actions in apprehending a suspect.”
Tessa Majors was at the age of 18 at the time of her death, she was a talented freshman at Barnard College who was stabbed to death in Manhattan, she was found by a security guard but it was too late as she was already dead.

According to the New York Times, Giri got stabbed to death near the Columbia University campus which is about two blocks from his apartment, Giri was heading home from soccer practice at around 11:00 pm, he got stabbed in the abdomen, this has been stated by The Times.
The suspect is also accused of stabbing another person nearby, Robert Malastina who is at the age of 27 got wounded, The Times reported that the 25-year-old suspect was arrested inside Central Park, he then tried to stab a third man who fought him off successfully, this has been reported by Daily News.

The suspect is a 25-year-old Vincent Pinkey who is a known gang member with 16 prior arrests who was out on parole, The New York Daily News described Pinkey as being on parole for a gang assault conviction and the owner of a long rap sheet, in the year 2013, he attacked a man with his four gang members which left 25 stitches on his face and 20 staples to his head.

As per the latest report, a suspect has been arrested in the murder of a Columbia University Student, Davide Giri. The name of the prime suspected person is Vincent Pinkney, the charges of the stabbing Davide Giri made on him. Pinkney has been apprehended and charges are pending, the cops stated. The student who died after being stabbed is identified as Davide Giri. He was a PhD candidate in computer science and was expected to graduate in the month of May. The stabbing binge lasted 15 minutes, with one dead and another wounded. The incident took place in Upper Manhattan on Thursday night. The other man who was stabbed an Italian tourist and is expected to remain alive.
