Former IAS officer Rajiv Kumar appointed as a new election commissioner in the replacement of Ashok Lavasa. We would like to tell you that Rajiv Kumar is an Indian economist and also the current vice-chairmen of the NITI Ayog. Rajiv is the chancellor of the Gokhale Institute of Economics & Politics in Pune and founding director of the Pahle India Foundation, a non-profit research organization that specializes in policy-oriented research and analysis. Our new election commissioner named Rajiv Kumar and has also written several books on the Indian economy & national security. Friday the law minister stated that “In pursuance of clause (2) of Article 324 of the Constitution, the President is pleased to appoint Rajiv Kumar, IAS (Former) as the new election commissioner”. Ashok Lavasa who used to be the election commissioner resigned from the same post.
