Pontoon Beach Shooting Today
The police officer got shot on Tuesday in the morning at a gas station in Pontoon Beach, Illinois, the information is according to Edwardsville Police. The police were reported about the shooting at 8:00 am to the speedway gas station which is located at 5401 Illinois route 111 near Interstate 270.
It was reported by the authorities to 5 On Your Side that the Pontoon Beach Department officer was investigating a possible stolen car on the gas station parking lot when there was a man who started shooting at him, the officer got shot and he suffered life-threatening injuries, it has been stated by IPS.

The condition of the officer is not yet known to the public, the officer has been rushed to the Saint Louis University Hospital, there were police departments from several local agencies who were parked outside the emergency department at SLU, the suspect was taken into custody at the scene.
There was also a lot of police presence which was outside the emergency department at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. Crime scene tapes were wrapped around most of the gas stations on Tuesday morning, police officers from several agencies are present at the scene.
