The horrible incident was captured in a video and we can hear the voices of “Oh my God, oh my God” screams went up as the red SUV tore through the barricades running over people and this scene is clearly visible in a chilling video. Police Chief Dan Thompson informed reporters that “The Waukesha Christmas parade was conducted when a red SUV broke through the barricades, westbound, headed down Main Street. The vehicle struck more than 40 people some of them were children and there were some deaths as a consequence of this incident.”

However, the officer did not specify the number of people assassinated and added that no further details would be released until families have been notified. A total of 11 adults and 12 children were admitted to six area hospitals, Fire Chief Steven Howard informed reporters. Officials at the press conference stated that “A ‘person of interest was in custody and officers had recovered the involved vehicle. There were no other menaces. At the time of the incident, an officer did the fire at the SUV in a try to stop it, according to the authorities. As per bystanders and footage, the SUV sped into the parade behind a school marching band.
Schools will not open Monday and roads will remain closed as stated by Thompson while the investigation is continuing. Whereas local law enforcement was the primary responding entity, the FBI stated it was providing assistance. Angelito Tenorio, who is running for Wisconsin state treasurer, was present at the parade and informed the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he “watched an SUV cross over, just put the pedal to the metal and just zooming full speed along the parade route.”
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers stated he and his wife were “praying for Waukesha tonging and all the children, families and community members affected by this horrible act.”
