As per the reports, NRL young gun Reece Walsh has been apprehended on the Gold Coast. The 19-year-old was reportedly taken into custody by copes following an incident in Surfers Paradise overnight. The arrest video of Reece was posted on social media and went viral, in the posted video users can watch that police is talking to a man, which is believed to be Walsh, on the glitter strip prior to that he is led away in handcuffs.

The Police of Queensland confirmed that a 19-year-old man was issued with an order of move on just after midnight. The statement reads that “Around 12:15 AM this morning cops from Surfers Paradise ordered a move on the direction to a male who is around 19-year-old. About 45 minutes later police noticed that man in the same area.” As a consequence, he was apprehended and taken to Surfers Paradise Police Station.”
It is assumed that New Zealand Warriors star has since been bailed sans charge but the investigation of the case is still going on. The Warriors authenticate in a statement that the NRL Integrity Unit has been informed after Walsh met with Warriors CEO Cameron George this morning. The statement stated that “While the matter is under investigation the club will not be creating any further comment till a later stage.”
Reece Walsh has allegedly been charged over the possession of cocaine after being apprehended at the time of a night out on the Gold Coast’s Surfers Paradise party strip. Walsh broke down on a Zoom call on Sunday afternoon with his manager and the club’s chief executive. He said “This is only on me. I should never have done it. It is a mistake that I have made and I am aware of that. I am regretful and should never have done it.”

He also admitted to being in possession of a small bag of cocaine. Cameron George, Warriors chief executive stated Walsh had been charged and would undergo alcohol and drug counseling. He said, “We do not condone this behavior so we will continue to work through this situation with the NRL integrity unit and also our club in terms of sanctioning processes but as it stands now he has been charged on one count of carrying of a prohibited substance and will attend the court in the middle of October.”
