WATCH: Downing Street Video Allegra Stratton and No 10 Party Video goes on social media: The social media platform is full of several videos and out of this one political video is currently grabbing the eyeballs. Politics is always a trending topic of debate and when any video related to politics comes fore it instantly draws the attention of everyone. One such video footage puts PM in big trouble as Boris Johnson is currently facing allegations of lying after senior No 10 officials were recorded mocking about a lockdown Christmas party that Downing Street insists did not have happened. Johnson and his assistants have constantly rejected that the event, allegedly held for staff at 10 in December last year, broke Covid norms or rules or took place at all. In the leaked video footage of a bogus televised press briefing, an adviser to Johnson is watched mocking with Allegra Stratton, the prime minister’s then press secretary, related to “a Downing Street Christmas party on Friday night”. The video footage, attained by ITV, was filmed on 22nd December 2020. The Friday prior to was 18th December, the date on which several sources have stated there was a staff party inside Downing Street, which would have a conflict with strict Covid rules or regulations in place at the time. It views Stratton, prime ministerial adviser Ed Oldfield, and other members making a series of jokes about the party, which includes references to “cheese and wine”, the absence of social distancing, and making the excuse it was a business-related meeting.

Accomplished in the leaked video footage, Stratton jokingly says “This is filmed… This fictional party was a business-related meeting and it was not socially distanced.” Johnson has frequently said no Covid rules or regulations were broken, while his mouthpiece rejected earlier on Tuesday that any event at Downing Street has happened. Talking about the video, Downing Street requested it had not changed its thought, saying; “There was no Christmas party. Covid rules and regulations have been followed at all times.”

Personally, the Department for Education asserted a report that some staff members and the then education secretary Gavin Williamson conducted an office party on 10th December last year, whereas London was in tier 2, the 2nd highest level of the covid rules. As per The Mirror stated Williamson gave a speech while up to 2 dozen staff collected in a cafe area and consuming wine. A DfE mouthpiece stated that on that date, “a gathering” occurred of officials already present at the office “to thank those staff for their efforts at the time of the pandemic”.
