Terrorists attacked the manager of Elaqahi Dehati Bank, Vijay Kumar, inside his Aarey branch. He took his last breath on the way to the hospital. A resident of the Hanumngarh district in Rajasthan, recently Vijay Kumar joined his posting in Kalgam. According to the police, the area was cordoned off and efforts are on to track down the terrorists behind the attack. The attack just comes two days after a Hindu teacher Rajni Bala, who was from Jammu. She was killed by Terrorists outside a school also in Kaulgam.
The bank manager’s killing in Kulgam came within 24 hours of two major incidents in the adjoining Shopian district. A civilian, Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, was injured in a targeted terror attack inside his home last evening. In another incident, three soldiers had been injured after an explosion in their vehicle early this morning. One of the soldiers has faced serious injuries. As per the Army, The three soldiers were taken to a personal vehicle for an anti-terrorist operation. The blast they said took place while they were on their way to the target area.
Now police are also trying to confirm if the blast was caused by an IED a grenade or the crashing of the car battery. Sources said the vehicle was heavily damaged and it’s improbable that this was caused by battery issues. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot damned the killing and showed his condolences.
