So, the winner of the show is Gabriel “Gabe” Erales, and become the first-ever Mexican contestant who won the title of Top Chef Season 18. There were 3 finalists left in the show at the end including Shota Nakajima, Dawn Burrell, and Gabriel “Gabe” Erales. The eighteenth season of the show took place at Willamette Valley Vineyards, Portland. In the final challenge, the top 3 constants were asked to prepare the four best course meals of their lives. Each contestant gave the best performance in their final challenge.
The contestants served their meals to the head judges Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio, the host Padma Lakshmi, some special guests including Peter Cho, Tiffany Derry, and Naomi Pomeroy along with all contestants of this season who are placed in the dining panel. Apart from them, the former winners of the show were also appeared in the finale episode to crown the next winner of Top Chef. Gabe Erales was declared the winner of Top Chef season 18 and wins the Chef’s hat and $250,000 prize money in cash. All four dishes made by Gabe were very delicious and he got a positive response from the judges for his innovative dishes.
If we talk about Gabe Erales then he took birth in the culturally rich border town located in El Paso, Texas. Gabe was very interested in cooking since his childhood. At the age of 15, he started working in the kitchen. He moved to Austin, Texas to complete his graduation where he attended the University of Texas and earned a degree in both Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering. He assisted many prominent chefs including Rene Ortiz, late Miguel Ravago, and Jesse Griffiths. He most recently worked in the Mexican restaurant in Austin, Texas as the Executive Chef of Comedor.
