The End of the IPL

The India Premier League is always great fun to follow, and the 2021 season finally comes to a halt soon. This is the most-attended cricket league in the world by far, and this means that there will always be some amazing plays to watch out for.

So far, we have enjoyed a fantastic season. The Delhi Capitals are currently out in front, but that doesn’t always mean that they will be able to claim the title. Will we see them take their second championship? Only time will tell. Don’t forget to tune into the final, which is due to take part in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium as it did in 2020.

In addition to the actual games, we shall have to wait and see who is awarded each of the prizes. The Orange and Purple caps have to go out, as do the Most Valuable Player, Fairplay, and Emerging Player awards. Of course, there is also a most sixes award too. With so many amazing players on the field at the moment, it will be interesting to see who is awarded for being the best of the best here!

The Women’s Big Bash League

Why should you focus entirely on what the male players are doing? If you are searching for an amazing game of cricket from female players, you need to check out the Women’s Big Bash League. This is the Australian women’s league and has been running since 2015.

There are eight teams in this league from all across the country. Though the league has been dominated a little by the Thunder and the Sixers, both from Sydney, there are still some great opportunities to see some unbelievable cricket play out here.

One of the great reasons to follow women’s cricket over men’s is that the players in men’s cricket can often get caught up in the Test matches. This doesn’t happen in the women’s games, meaning that there is a real chance to see some of the best players that Australia is able to offer. This is also the perfect venue to see some of the biggest up-and-coming players and how they are performing in this professional setting.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

The World Cup is coming, and it should prove to be an amazing affair! With 16 teams in play, the top ten in the world plus six who made it through qualifying matches, this is going to be a great chance to see cricket as it should be played. The West Indies will be defending their title here, but they have some strict competition. The ranked teams include heavyweights like India and Australia. Even the teams that qualified in the other rounds will be coming in with all guns blazing, and it should make for quite the competition!

The final is scheduled for the 14th of November, but we have a lot to get through before then. Make sure that you pay close attention to these games as they progress – there is likely to be a lot of interesting plays as things progress.

The Ashes

The Ashes, the Test series between Australia and England, is one of the most hotly anticipated events each year. Test matches are the highest standard of cricket that you can find, and England and Australia always put on a good show for anyone who might be tuning in to watch.

As with other Test series, the hosts take turns. This year, it will be Australia’s turn to host and will meet England at the Gabba in Brisbane, the Melbourne and Sydney Cricket Grounds, the Adelaide Oval, and the Perth Stadium for the first time.

This will mark the 72 Ashes series. Australia has the lead by one, having won by 33. England has won 32 so far, and the teams have drawn six. Who is going to pull out in front with this Ashes series? We are going to have to wait and see!

India Tour of South Africa

It is common in cricket to see different national teams travel to another country to play some matches together over the course of a month or so. In December and January, India’s team will be doing exactly this when they head to South Africa!

This trip will see them take each other on across a variety of different matches. Things kick off on the 17th of December with a Test match and then continue with another two. These are then followed by three ODI matches and four T20 games.

This is a busy schedule, and the players will be shuttled around the country quite quickly. However, it should result in some epic cricket being played. Watch out for the time difference if you think that you would like to enjoy these games live, but otherwise, get ready to tune in and see who emerges on the top!
