Well, the ICC board on Wednesday did a meeting in which they have decided to ‘wait & watch’ before they can even start scheduling the upcoming tournaments. As you all might already know that sports are being affected a lot because of the COVID-19 and sine a long time everybody is in a lockdown period. You must know that the T20 World Cup 2020 is expected this year but now things are looking unclear. The meeting was held in Dubai and we are waiting for the tournament to start on the given time.
In simple words, we can say that the whole meeting was held on Wednesday but the result of that wasn’t declared. You all should know that the ICC T20 World Cup is expected to be held in Australia later this year. Reports are suggesting that the fate of the event has been under the doubt and we don’t know when things will normal as we are in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Overall, we are waiting for the tournament to start again.
Earlier, the event was scheduled to be held from October 18 to November 15 in Australia. Sources are saying that the whole schedule isn’t pushed away and they haven’t talked about the cancelling it but all they are doing is wait and watch. This year the IPL didn’t take place as the event was scheduled to be held in April but that was cancelled as the situation went pretty hard from here.
You all should know that the ICC said, “The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board today agreed to continue exploring a number of contingency plans regarding the future of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 and the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 until next month”. We are waiting for the confirmation but that whole will be based on the things we don’t know as the future is unpredictable.
