As per our information, State President Vanniyar Sangam has issued a legal notice to Suriya on Monday in which he demanded Rs. 1 crore in damages. Along with him, he also issued a notice to the director of the film TJ Gnanavel. In the legal notice, he demanded an unconditional apology and removal of some scenes which they called defamatorily. It is alleged in the legal notice that in one scene of the film, a police character is intentionally featured as connecting to the Vanniyar community which is considered as a most Backward cast that is politically influential in northern Tamil Nadu.
Jai Bhim is mainly a Tamil language film that is based on real-life events. However, the legal notice was issued after Former Union Health Minister and PMK leader, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss accused the actor Suriya of hurting the sentiments of the community.
