The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has declared that power cuts will be imposed in 20 zones from “A” to “W” between 08:30 AM and 06:00 PM for 3 hours and between 06:00 PM and 10:30 PM for 30 minutes. In the event, CEB is compelled to take demand management measures due to inadequate a consequence of fuel shortage, hydro storage, and unavailability of generators, such will be limited to the schedule mentioned below.

CEB noted that all the feeders assigned to a specific group might not be interrupted depending on the demand and available generation capacity at a specific time. Further, supply restoration and interruption time will be varied within 30 minutes.
Further continuing the daily power cuts, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) yesterday declared 3 hours and 20 minutes load shedding from today till 27 April, as requested by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB). The PUCSL stated, “In the event that the CEB is compelled to take demand management measures due to insufficient generation as a consequence of fuel shortage, hydro shortage, and unavailability of generators measures will be limited to the 3 hours and 20 minutes from 25 to 27 April.”
The approved power cut is 1 hour less than the original request of the CEB made for 4 hours and 30 minutes. For areas A-L, 2-hour power cuts will be imposed between 08:30 AM and -3:30 PM areas, although 1 hour and 20 minutes from 05:00 PM to 08:10 PM. For areas P-W, 2-hour power cuts will be imposed between 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM and 05:00 PM to 08:10 PM.
Schedule 01: Demand Management Schedule for Southern, Sabaragamuwa, part of the North West, Central, and part of the Western provinces.
Schedule 02: Demand Management Schedule for Northern, Part of the Central, North Central, part of the North West, and part of the Western Province, Uva Province, and Eastern Province.
Schedule 03: Demand Management Schedule for 6 feeders supplying to Colombo City commercial zones.
