The queen of Nurburging, who was born on 14th May 1969 in Adenau Germany, had been passed away on 16th March 2021, on Tuesday. She died aged 51. Schmitz shared her health status from her Facebook account, she wrote, “I have been suffering from an extremely persevere cancer which is hasn’t eradicated with the resources and again caught me with extreme effect. And I’m fighting cancer since the end of 2017.”
Sabine Schmitz Passes Away
The official account of Nurburgring tweeted, “the Nurburging is going through great grief as we have lost the legendary and most profound lady racing driver. Rest In Peace, Queen. She has been passed away too early and we will gonna miss her joyful behavior and nature.”
She named the “Queen of Nurburging” as she was the only female who owns the title of 24 hours of Nurburgring. Schmitz’s parents were the owner of a restaurant in Nurburg and her parents had two more daughters accept her. Her sister Sabine is the only one who pushes Schmitz to follow her racing dream and both grew up the following driving to chase their racing dream. She was first seen on tv in a German show of D Motor. Schmitz defeated Jeremy Clarkson in a Jaguar S in 2004.

Kalus Abellen is the second husband of “Queen of Nurburgring”. While her first husband was a German Hotelier, and they got divorced in 2000. Kalus is also from Germany and he is born on 15th September 1960. He is knowns as an entrepreneur, butcher, and etc. He is also a succeded race car driver. He ranked in class A when he entered Ferrari Porsche Challenge. He started his career in car racing in 1999. He won the title of Champion of Euro GT series in 2000. In 2007 Abellen and Schmitz tied a knot. As per the reports they dated for one year and decides to get married in the next year.
