On the evening of 2nd April 2022, the first sight of the crescent moon for  Ramzan 2022 was seen in cities like New Delhi, Bhopal, Chennai, Jammu and Kashmir, Lucknow, Lahore, Peshawar, Dhaka, and Islamabad. The first fast is being observed on 3rd April 2022 in India as it depends upon the first sight of the crescent moon. The dates of the holy month Ramzan change every year as it depends on the Islamic calendar which is based on the cycle of lunar. As mentioned Ramadan is considered the ninth month of the Islamic calendar depending upon the sighting of the first sight of the crescent moon.

The month of Ramadan lasts for almost 720 hours it is comprised of four weeks and one or two days during this month Muslims fast between dawn and sunset in this period the person who is observing fast does not consume any kind of eatable or drinking product. Followers of Islam pray for guidance and peace in Ramazan and they give it back to the people in form of ‘zakaat’ or charity. Muslims try to engage in humanitarian activities such as feeding and charity to the underprivileged as more as they can.
