It has been said that it was the worst and most dangerous storm in almost 30 years, with an extreme wind peak of 122mpn being captured at The Needles on the Isle of Wight. The Met office considered the storm to be a new record for England, breaking the 118mph gust captured at Gwennap Head in December 1979 in Cornwall. At the time of writing, at least four people were reported died after flying debris posing an extreme threat to life, and many others were left injured.

RAF Brize Norton released a statement revealing that the clean-up operation will be started once it is safe. They stated, “We are aware that due to high winds there has been damage to one of our aircraft hangars,” ahead of stating that at present, they are liaising with the local authorities.
