As per the media report, she has passed away due to complications related to Wuhanvirus. She has contracted this lethal infection last month and today’s she has succumbed. She has died at the age of 85 on 13th June 2021 and she left behind a husband, three daughters, and one son. Her death news is confirmed by a spokesperson of Nirmal’s family as they stated that “We are in deep sorrow and saddened to inform that Mrs. Nirmal Milkha Singh has demised today after a valorous fight against Wuhanvirus around 4 PM.”
They further added “She is a backbone of Milkha’s family and her age is 85 years old. It is more heartbroken that her husband Flying Sikh Milkha Singh Ji could not able to attend her funeral which was held this evening as he is currently hospitalized in Chandigarh and still in the ICU of PGIMER.”As per the report she was hospitalized in Mohali on 26th May and after two days Milkha Singh was admitted to the same hospital because of a Wuhanvirus infection.

He was discharged after the request of the family with a week but Nirmal has remained at the hospital, struggling with the lethal infection. Later on, Milkha was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of PGIMER and his condition is currently “stable and improving”. Nirmal Saini was a former captain of the Indian National Volleyball team and an athlete too.
She was born on 10th October in 1938 in Sheikhupura which is now in Pakistan. Nirmal was a former Director of Sports For Women in the Punjab Government. Talking about her education she had completed her MA in Political science. A spokesperson stated that “The Milkha’s family has expressed its heartful thanks to all those for their prayers and harmony right through the fight which gave them the hope and strength to stand in front of this lethal infection bravely.”
