There has been an accident at the New Longton in which a man has following up a crash between a car and a moped which happened in South Ribble village. Police were called out to the scene in New Longton around 8:20 am yesterday on Saturday on 21st August. There has been a report of a collision between the Aprilia moped and a Ford fusion. The crash took place at the junction of Sheephil Lane and Wham Lane which happened in New Longton.

It has been confirmed by the Police, the rider who was riding the moped was a 20 year old from Chorley who has suffered from some serious injuries and he was pronounced dead as he died at the scene. The person who was driving the Ford Fusion is unhurt and it has been stated by the police that Hugh Barn, Cathrow Drive, Sheephil Lane, and Southfield Drive are all closed as the paramedics and police have responded to the incident.
