The festival is all about the highness Goddess Durga and it is a 9 day Hindu festival. Each and every day is dedicated to an embodiment of Durga. She is the protector of the universe as she protects everyone from all of the demons and spirits from a person’s life. The special festival is to honor the existence of Maa Durga and according to the Hindu tradition, it is celebrated 5 times a year. The motive of the festival is to remove any kind of negativity from your life and also remove any kind of discomfort that your loved ones are facing. The 9 embodiments of Maa Durga are as follows-

DAY 1: Shailputri (13th April 2021)

The embodiment of Maa Parvati is Goddess Shailputri who is worshiped on the first day. In this form of hers, she is with her bull called Nandi having a lotus flower and Trishul in her hand, the color of the day will be red for the first day that represents vigor, action and courage.

DAY 2: Brahmacharini (14th April 2021)

The goddess is worshiped on the 2nd day of the festival. She is one of the embodiments of Maa Parvati who became a Sati. She is being worshiped so that the people get peace in their life. Her form is about being bare feet holding a Kamndalu and Jampala

DAY 3: Chandraghanta (15th April 2021)

The goddess is worshiped on the 3rd day of Navratri, the name was given to Maa Durga after the marriage of her and lord Shiva as he settled a half-moon to her forehead. The color is yellow for day 3 that represents bravery.

DAY 4: Kushmanda (16th April 2021)

The goddess is worshiped on the 4th day of the festival, in her from she has 8 hands while sitting on a lion which represents greenery and vegetables which makes the green color as the color for the day.

DAY 5: Skandmata (17th April 2021)

The goddess is worshiped on the 5th day of the festival. In this form, she is having 4 arms while holding her baby and riding a lion. The color of the day remains grey.

DAY 6: Katyayani (18th April 2021)

The goddess is worshiped on the 6th day of the festival and it is a violent embodiment of hers in which she has 4 hands and is riding a lion. Orange will be the color of the day.

DAY 7: Kalratri (19th April 2021)

The goddess is worshiped on the 7th day of the festival. In this form, she defeated Sumbha and Nisumbha who are the 2 demons as her color changed from white to black. The color of the day will be white.

DAY 8: Maha Gauri (20th April 2021)

The goddess is worshiped on the 8th day of the festival. The forms of hers symbolize intellect and peace. The color of the day remains pink.

DAY 9: Siddhidatri (21st April 2021)

The goddess is worshiped on the 9th day of the festival. In this form, it is said that all kinds of Siddhis are being possessed by her as she is holding a lotus while sitting and has 4 hands.
