As per the sources, The Naples Zoo Malayan tiger named Eko is dead after attacking a man who stuck his arm in the enclosure. The incident took place on Wednesday evening (29 December). After the tiger attacked the man, a Collier County deputy shot the tighter. According to the deputies, it was confirmed by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office that a man with a third-part cleaning service, contracted by the zoo had been attacked when he was petting or feeding the driver. Both of these are not authorized by the zoo.

The primary information that was given to CCSO officials suggests that 8 years old tiger attacked the man’s arm and pulled him into the enclosure when the man placed his arm through a fence barrier of the enclosure. The sheriff’s office said that the first deputy who have reached the scene had tried to get the tiger to free the man’s arm by kicking the enclosure. It has been said that the deputy was forced to shoot the tiger. After being attacked, the man was immediately taken to the Lee Memorial Hospital. The man is in his 20s. He had several serious injuries.
Deputed said that it is being considered a trauma alert. After being shot, the tiger, Eko has retreated behind the enclosure. Deputies stated that they flew a drone into the enclosure after the incident took place. Eko was brought to the Naples Zoo back in December 2019.
