On Sunday, the state government has announced that only up to 10000 fully vaccinated people will be able to attend the Melbourne Cup. It has also been announced that 10000 people will be allowed to attend the cup even though Victoria doesn’t reach the 80% double vaccinated limit. Race day is also a part of the vaccinated economy trial of the state.

We would like to tell you that on the first day of Cup week, Derby day will certainly not be crowded. While on Oaks day, there will a crowd of up to 10,000 people. Stakes day will be depended on the vaccination rate by November 04. The state has been instructed to reach that figure before November 5. However, VRC members are expected to get priority for the tickets on Melbourne Cup Day. The 10000 people who will be allowed to attend Flemington, will be mostly VRC members. The VRC has more than 30000 members and the club will make sure that as many of them will attend the race.

However, it is not confirmed yet that how the 10000 people could be divided. It has been said that if Victoria won’t reach the 80% double vaccination limit till the race day then only those people will be able to attend the race who stay within 25 km. Till Oaks day and stakes day, Victoria needs to cross the limit of 80% double vaccination. If anyhow you couldn’t get tickets then you can also watch the race on television.
