Meizu has launched their Zero smartphones in China and the main highlight of this smartphone is their unique design which will have no physical buttons, ports, or even the SIM-tray slot. The device will rely on eSIM and pressure sensitive volume and power button which would be incorporated using its mEngine 2.0 tech. It also won’t have a 3.5mm audio jack or a USB-Type C port for charging, and users could just rely on the Super mCharge wireless for charging and wireless Bluetooth audio accessories for audio. The Meizu Zero has been revealed just before the Vivo Apex 2019 concept phone launch, that is also being expected to have no physical buttons as well.

Neither the Meizu Zero pricing or the availability details of the phone has been announced as of now. The company notes that they still have to get the approvals for the eSIM, only after that, the smartphone would be launched in the Chinese market. For now, its international availability hasn’t been discussed.

Meizu Zero will have a minimalistic design and will have a Black and White glossy back panel finishing. At the back, the smartphone will have a dual rear camera setup that would be stacked vertically and placed in the centre. The smartphone will have an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and the display will have no notch or a display hole. It will have slight chins on the top and bottom of the bezel, and the left and right sides would be stretch out, and this is almost similar to what we have been seeing on the Samsung flagship devices.

The smartphone will apparently be IP68 dust and water-resistant, and this means it will have the ability to withstand underwater immersion for up to 30 minutes. The speaker grille has also been removed from the bottom edge, and this has been integrated with its mSound 2.0 technology instead. The company claimed that the phone’s screen could be used as a speaker as well as an earpiece.

The company hasn’t revealed any specifications, but some have speculated that the Meizu Zero will be based on the Flyme 7-based on Android (version not mentioned). The Super AMOLED display will be 5.99-inch in size and will sport (1080×2160 pixels) full-HD+ resolution and 2.5D curved glass protection. The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor and would be paired with Adreno 630 GPU.

Optics include a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens that comes with support for flash. In the upfront, it has a 20-megapixel sensor that comes with a Face Unlock technology. The connectivity options include Bluetooth v5, 18W wireless charging support, and much more.
