There is a sad demise of the veteran Australian stage and screen actor naming Mary Ward who has died at the age of 106, it has been stated to her family that she has died peacefully which happened on Monday in the morning and she has died in Melbourne in a care facility.

She has been one of the most celebrated actresses as she has been part of the industry for the longest time, she has been mostly known for her performances in soap operas and one of her most memorable ventures was Jeanette Brooks which she played in the Prisoner which was titled as The Prisoner: Cellblock H in the US and UK which she did since 1979 to 1981.
She has also been a part of Sons and Daughters, Young Doctors, Neighbours, Blue Heelers and a Country Practice but it seems like that it was the show prisoner that put her in limelight at the time and that was the beginning when she started getting recognition for her work.
She gave an interview to The Herald Sun in the year 2016 as she was being interviewed on her 101st birthday, she stated an interview she remembers sitting down with the whole cast as they were reading the scripts for the first time and in the room, there was a vibe that this is going to be something special and is going to be groundbreaking.
During her initial years in 1970, she was the part of Melbourne Theatre Company where she used to perform for various productions and she did that for over a decade.
She learned to act in Australia during the second world war and she became one of the first female radio announcers during the time and at the time she was being recognized as the ‘FORCE’S SWEETHEART’ as she used to broadcast about the armed forces in the Pacific.
