The Malayalam film industry was still staggering from the ill-timed demise of director-screenwriter Dennis Joseph on 10th May 2021 (Monday) and now the death news o actor-screenwriter Madampu Kunjukuttan on 11th May 2021. The screenwriter, Kunjukuttan had a high fever and was hospitalized in a private hospital. Then Kunjukuttan was diagnosed with the WuhanVirus and finally lost the battle on Tuesday. He has died at the age of 81.
Madampu Sankaran Namboothiri was born on 23rd June 1941 in the Kiralur village of Thrissur. He was highly educated and also worked as a teacher and priest in a nearby temple. He also won the National Film Award in the category of Best Screenplay in 2000. He received the award for the Malayalam film Karunam which was directed by Jayaraj. He wrote the screenplay for many Malayalam films including Saphalam, Makalkku, Desadanam, Gourisankaram. He also worked in many films as an actor.
Prithviraj Sukumaran was stunned after hearing the sudden death news of Madampu due to the Wuhanvirus. He posted his condolence message on his social media account, he stated, “RIP! #MadambuKunjukuttan Sir. The timelines are starting to look like eulogy columns. Praying for the deceased and their loved ones…”. His death news is a great loss for the Malayalam Film Industry.
