Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs Review: If you like to watch a story full of family drama, royal family politics, and mysteries, then ‘Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs’ can be an interesting web series for you. This series revolves around royal pomp, family feuds, and a mysterious death. Although logic is sacrificed many times in an attempt to move the story forward quickly, the abundance of drama and twists makes it worth watching at least once.
Cast: Nimrat Kaur, Ridhi Dogra, Amol Parashar, Gaurav Arora, Rahul Vohra, Suhaas Ahuja, Rohit Tiwari, and Arslan Goni
Director: Sahir Raza
Story
This story is about a fictional royal family of Bikaner, whose foundation is now weakening. The head of this family is Chandra Pratap Risings (Rahul Vohra), who is an aging king and is now suffering from a disease called Alzheimer’s. He has four children, three from his wife and one illegitimate.
Indrani (Nimrat Kaur) is Raja Saheb’s eldest daughter, who is very calm and married to Vikram, a politician’s son. Kavya (Ridhi Dogra) is a middle-class thinking woman who is very practical and sensible. She wants to improve the financial condition of the family by leasing out the palace. Abhimanyu (Amol Parashar) is Raja Saheb’s younger son, who is carefree, drunk, and a bit careless. Brij (Gaurav Arora) is Raja Saheb’s illegitimate son, who is different from everyone else but is Chandra Pratap’s favorite child.
The financial condition of the family is not good, and the sourness in the relationships is visible. In such an environment, Raja Chandra Pratap is about to make a big announcement on his 60th birthday, but in the morning, his dead body is found in the swimming pool, which shocks everyone.
Was Raja’s death an accident or a conspiracy?
There are injury marks on his body, which raises suspicion that this is not an ordinary death. This is where the series takes a turn like a crime thriller. All the members of the family come under suspicion and in this sequence many old secrets of the people also start getting revealed. After this death, the family starts breaking up and the real thinking of every character starts coming out. Like who wants what in the will, who is jealous of whom, who is hiding what.
Acting
Nimrat Kaur has played the character of Indrani with great seriousness. She is calm at the beginning of the show, but towards the end, her layers are revealed. Riddhi Dogra won hearts as Kavya. She is an educated woman who wants to take care of the family financially. Amol Parasher showed both bindaas and emotional aspects in the character of Abhimanyu. However, at times, his acting can seem over the top. Gaurav Arora’s character ‘Brij’ has a lot of potential, but the script sometimes sidelines him and sometimes suddenly brings him to the center. Rahul Vohra gives depth to the show with his acting as an ailing king.
The show starts very strong, but in the middle few episodes, the story starts falling apart. Some scenes seem very dramatic. Like a minister being shown as a murderer or a brother taking drugs in front of his sister. These things dilute the seriousness of the story. Apart from this, the background of some relationships is not explained properly, like Indrani supporting her brother in every situation.
Final Review
‘Kull’ is one of those series which hooks you in the beginning, wanders a bit in the middle but finally catches hold again. The world of the royal family, politics within the family, secrets and conflicts in relationships have been shown well in this. If you can ignore logic a bit and are just looking for entertainment, then this show is worth watching. This series gets 3 stars from Get India News.
