One after another many legends are dying and in this line-up, one more name has been added, the dubbed artist, Kelli Hand has recently passed away. Kelli Hand who was also popularly known as K-Hand is one of the most important settlers of Detroit techno is no more between us. Her death news was informed by her friends through social media accounts on the evening of Tuesday, 3rd August 2021. Her fans are feeling shattered after hearing her death news and curious to know the reason for her death.
Kelli Hand Cause Of Death
The reason for her death is not known yet and as soon as we will get to know that we will update here. She worked both as a label boss and an artist throughout led her to dubbed The First Lady Of Detroit Techno and in the month of July 2017, the Detroit city council awarded her with a Testimonial Resolution certificate and listing her “many achievements in the male-dominated industry of electronic music.”
Keli was born in Detroit and lived her early childhood in the Michigan city convert terms with the development of techno music. Some of her untimely clubbing experiences were at New York’s Paradise Garage and Chicago’s Music Box and in Detroit, she seizes the electronic music bug and then she started her own label-primitively named UK House Music for her untimely productions.
At first, assisted by Detroit stalwarts like Mike Clarke (Agent-X) and Robert Hood for the production of her debut “Think About It” EP- which was released under the name Etat Solide. Keli also collaborated with Claude Young beneath the name Rhythm Formation for some recent releases-and setting herself up to be a popular figure in the 2nd wave of Detroit techno.
In the year 1990, Keli changed the name of her label to Acacia Records which was named after a street in Detroit. Apart from this, she had some early releases on Belgian label Global cuts. For the past several years, she developed an extremely close relationship with Germany, the European country most nearly associated with Detroit techno. In the year 2017, she recorded a podcast for Dekmantel. After hearing the sudden demise news of Kelli, the international dance community paid tribute to her.
