The Minister Of Health, Greg Hunt, has congratulated Aspen Medical for their hit and successful parliament-related aggregate events. While his division was in agreement with him for financially rewarded multi-dollar PPE proposals, Hunt drafted and signed a nice letter of praise for a politically linked healthcare company.
Whilst the papers had been drafted and signed, the deadline had been set for the month of February 2020. As per Department of Health documents attained through the Freedom of Information Act, the first PPE declaration was made on 22nd February 2020. The letter of Mr. Hunt had been sought, as per Aspen Medical, which asserted it to Four Corners.
A Hunt spokesman stated, “It was prepared to assist Aspen Medical in filling the job openings in the United States and is permissible for Australian firms assisting in foreign operations. The minister flatly rejected any engagement in the PPE contracts of the firm, including “recommendations, approvals, purchase choices, evaluations, or contract discussions.”
Aspen Medical Was Given More Than $1 Billion In Government PPE Contract
Sans a public procedure, Canberra-based Aspen Medical would end up with $1.1 billion in taxpayer-funded contracts. At the time of the pandemic, the pre-tax profits of the firm climbed to more than $420 million, after losses of $7 million in the year 2018 and 2019.
In the spite of having no prior expertise with large-scale procurement, The PPE contracts of Aspen Medical with the Department Of Health were worth $500 million more than any other government supplier, including those with industry experience.
As per a Four Corners probe performed in collaboration with the Sunday Times of Colombo, Aspen Medical is also engaged in an international criminal probe into corruption and money laundering.

The corporation has had a tight connection with top government officials and the parliamentary Liberal Party for more than 10 years. Dr. Wooldridge is a director of Aspen’s Indonesia joint venture, which is worth $1.3 billion.
