A very popular player of India who earned his name by Hockey whose name is Balbir Singh has died on Sunday at the age of 88. He took his last breath in Chandigarh. He was one of the most prominent and well-known hockey players who have won a number of medals by playing with dedication and devotion. He was a part of the Asian Games Indian Hockey Team. His death news is confirmed by his daughter, Mandeep Samra on Tuesday. She said, “My father passed away in sleep on Sunday morning due to heart failure.” The cause of his death hasn’t revealed yet. The actor was 88 at the time of his death. Balbir has got huge popularity and fame in playing hockey. He was the inspiration for all the newcomer hockey players. He inspired a lot with his hard work and allegiance. He was one of the finest Hockey players. He gained a lot in his whole life. His teammates are showing their sorrow by posting his pictures with RIP captioned.
Talking about his personal and professional life, he was born on 02 May 1932 in Jalandhar’s Sansarpur, Punjab. At 6, he started playing Hockey seeing his brother playing some sport in the village. He completed his study at Lyallpur Khalsa located in Jalandhar. In 1951, he was selected for the Indian Hockey Team. He also became the captain in the Inter-University hockey tournaments of the Punjab University. In 1962, he served in Army as an emergency commissioned officer.
In 1984, he retired as a Major and shifted to Chandigarh. After his retirement from the Hockey team, he shows his interest in golf.
