As per the reports, 20 years old Maddy got injured during a game and was immediately taken to the hospital but died 18 days later on 25 March. Her family paid tribute to her “spirit, sass, bravery, beauty, goodness, and love”. They revealed that she died after developing a bacterial infection. UWE Women’s Rugby also made a post on Instagram writing, “Whenever she smiled and laughed you couldn’t help but smile and laugh with her.”

According to the reports, Maddy Lawrence died when she caught a hospital bug after being injured as she was tackled in a match. At the time, she was playing for the University of the West of England women’s second team against the University of Bristol during which she sustain a non-life-threatening injury on 07 March.
