The union wrote a post on Facebook that stated, “It is with a heavy heart we inform the passing of former Bay of Plenty fullback Greg Rowlands. If we talk about Greg’s personal and professional life, Greg was born on 10 December 1947 in Rotorua, New Zealand. He started his career as a Rugby player. He played for the Otumoetai Cadets Club. After that, he played for Bay of Plenty as a first five-eighth in 1969. He represented Bay of Plenty as a fullback at a provincial level. He was also a part of the New Zealand national side. He went on a tour of South America where he played 4 matches for All Blacks that is a New Zealand men’s national rugby union.
