Greg’s family members are in grief after his death. He was 73 at the time of his death. He was one of the most well-known and renowned Rugby players who played for Bay of Plenty Rugby Union. The union wrote a post on Facebook that stated, “It is with a heavy heart we inform the passing of former Bay of Plenty fullback Greg Rowlands. Greg will be sorely missed by all of us in the Bay of Plenty community.” The other players of the Union are also sending their love and prayers to his family. The funeral of Greg will happen on 19 August 2021 (Thursday) at 1:30 PM at the Tauranga Sports Rugby Club in the Tauranga Domain.

If we talk about Greg’s personal and professional life, Greg was born on 10 December 1947 in Rotorua, New Zealand. He started his career as a Rugby player. He played for the Otumoetai Cadets Club. After that, he played for Bay of Plenty as a first five-eighth in 1969. He represented Bay of Plenty as a fullback at a provincial level. He was also a part of the New Zealand national side. He went on a tour of South America where he played 4 matches for All Blacks that is a New Zealand men’s national rugby union.

He played two matches against Argentina. As per the sources, he has played 161 games for Bay of Plenty from 1968 to 1981.
