Memories of murder: the Nilsen tapes are the latest documentary which is about crime on Netflix which you surely don’t want to miss, the documentary is going to be featuring the tapes which were made by Dennis Nilsen which were made through his prison cell. In the tapes, he has detailed the horrific and shocking crimes which he has committed which he did in the 1970s and 1980s. If we talk about the year 1978 to 1983, the guy murdered around 12 young men and probably many more which he did in London.
How Did Dennis Nilsen Die?
He was jailed for life in the year 1983 and there was a recommendation about him serving for a minimum of 25 years after he is convicted for 6 murders and two attempted murders. Nilsen was someone who was a mystery to the British police as they were trying to understand the psychology which was behind all of the killings, he was one of a kind of British criminal who received a tariff for his whole life which means he was never going to be released from prison. He joined the killers such as Christopher Halliwell, Peter Sutcliffe, and Stephen Port.
Dennis Nilsen Cause Of Death
He died in a New York hospital on 12th May in the year 2018, he was the age of 72 at the time, he was serving his life sentence when he was taken to the hospital on 10th May in the year 2018 as he was suffering from severe stomach pain. It was found he had a ruptured abdominal which got repaired and he was good to go but later on he suffered a severe blood clot that came as a complication after the stomach injury.
He served 34 years of his full life sentence as he died on 12th May 2021. It has been stated in the post-mortem report of the guy stated the cause of death is retroperitoneal hemorrhage. He was cremated in the month of June in the year 2018 and his ashes were returned to the next kin which was Mark Austin.
Who Was Dennis Nilsen?
He was a former civil servant from Aberdeenshire, Fraserburgh, he murdered and dismantled many of his victims at two addresses in Muswell Hill which is in North London. the majority of his victims were gay men, he used to attack the vulnerable ones as he used to lure them back to his house by picking the guys up from different pubs.
