The police said that the lady was suspected of shoving Barbara Maier to her demise is still wanted. The attacker, who had long curly hair and wore a long black jacket, “crossed the street and pushed the 87-year-old lady in an unproved senseless attack,” James Essig, the New York police chief of detectives, informed reporters on Tuesday. It is a very severe wound.”
The death of Gustern comes at a challenging time for New York as the city grapples with increasing crime rates. As of the 1st week of March, major crimes were up 47% since the beginning of the year, compared to the same time last year, data from the New York Police Department shows.
