Hlomu The Wife Showmax: Cast of Showmax’s ‘Hlomu the Wife’ revealed: As the news broke out that Showmax has been working behind the scenes as they producing their own show naming Telenovela which is inspired by Dudu Busani-Dube’s bestselling novel naming  Hlomu the Wife, the fans seem to be pretty excited about the new venture of Showmax, the fans have taken this to the social media. The fans have been coming up with their suggestions on whom to cast for the lead roles of Hlomu and Mqhele, on this week Showmax has confirmed the faces who have been cast to play the respective roles which are in the novel. Mqhele is going to be played by Bonko Khiza who has burst into the acting field with his amazing performance in the award-winning film naming  Necktie Youth and since then he has appeared in the likes of Professionals and the Emmy-nominated Roots.

Bonko has stated that he has read the book couple of years ago and he was a fan from that very moment, fast forward to 2021, he got an invite for the audition for the series, he was really excited to bring to life the incredible piece of writing on to the screen, Dudu created compelling work of art and they are going to breathe life into it.

This is the list of the roles which are going to be played by –

  • Swelihle Luthuli (eHostela) as Ntsika.
  • Kwenzo Ngcobo (Imbewu) as Qhawe
  • SA Film and Television Awards (Safta) winner Abdul Khoza (IsibayaKings of Jo’Burg) as Nqoba
  • Sipho Ndlovu (IsibayaThe Queen) as Sambulo
  • Swelihle Luthuli (eHostela) as Ntsika
  • Ishmauel Songo (Rhythm CityTsotsi) as Mpande

Showmax has also commissioned three seasons for 40 episodes each, they are inspired by Dudu’s books ‘Hlomu the Wife’, Zandile the Resolute, and Naledi His Love respectively and it has been further cautioned by Showmax that people who have read the book, get ready to be blown away as what you are going to be expecting it is going to be much more than that to cherish for in the show.

The first three episodes are going to be available from 11th November 2021 having three new episodes which will get added every Thursday. There are going to be more updates about the show in the coming days and weeks and we will update you as soon as something comes under our radar.
