Grantchester is going to be returning for the sixth series with Kacey Ainsworth, Robson Green, and Tom Brittney who are going to be playing their roles in the hit period drama, the show is set in the year 1985, the new season is going to be kicking off at Merrie’s holiday camp which is fictional. This is going to be the place where Granchester’s beloved characters are going to be spending time as they are going to be seeing enjoying their summer break, even though the actors filmed in the year 2020.

The synopsis for the series states, it is 1958 and there is trouble brewing in the Cambridgeshire village which is in GranchesteR, Will Davenport is going to be relishing his role as he is going to act as firebrand vicar as they were willing to rock the boat and they were challenging the conventions to help people.
But the very role he is loving is going to be putting him at odds of having his own ideals when his kind-hearted curate naming Leonard Finch is going to get caught up in a scandal. Will’s best friend naming Geordie Keating who is a Detective inspector is finding his principles shaken, the housekeeper is also distraught and the wife of Cathy is defiant.

The new series is going to kick off on 3rd September on Friday, the viewers can tune into ITV at 9:00 pm for the hour-long episode. Fans of the show are going to be enjoying the series even more as the series is going to be having 8 episodes rather than having the usual 6 which is going to make this the longest series.
Where Is Grantchester season 6 Filmed?
The shooting has been done in the village of Granchester itself, it has been further stated by RadioTimes, other locations are going to be many of the Cambridge University sports and the city of Cambridge, the cast has also ventured outside the Granchester which they did to film the summer break at the fictional Merries Holiday camp.
