Girl Scouts Unsold Cookies
In an interview with Outlet, A representative of the company named Kelly Parisi said, “This is unfortunate, but given this is a girl-driven program and the majority of cookies are sold in-person, it was to be expected.” As per the sources, this organization located in the USA sells 200 million boxes of cookies every year worth around $800 million. Now, the Girls Scouts is finding the way along with ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers to charity the cookies to such places where food is needed including food banks, orphanages, etc.
However, during the pandemic, the organizations have tried many other sales methods to sell out the cookies including online sales, contact-free, and drive-thru booths but unfortunately, it didn’t work for them. The spokeswoman, Kelly said that the organization members are trying hard to overcome the loss as the pandemic condition is now changed. She said, “Girl Scout cookie season isn’t just when you get to buy cookies, It’s interacting with the girls. It’s Americana.” It is also revealed that there is one more reason for the least sale in Girls Scout is falling memberships.
As per the reports, the membership of the organization is decreasing from the year 2009 and has dropped 30% till now. Girls Scout is mainly a youth organization especially for the girls in the USA. The organization is founded on March 12, 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low. There are 1.8 million girls members are involved in the organization including 800,000 adults. Judith Batty is the CEO of the organization. After the huge loss, the organization is figuring out the way to bear the loss. They have taken some big decisions in this matter.
