The officers give a statement in which he stated that “It is claimed a motor vehicle was performing a U-turn on the South Gippsland Highway when it was indulged in a collision with another vehicle traveling southbound around 01:25 PM”. The police found both the vehicles there and charged the 19-year old driver following a fatal hit. The accident was so hard that it took the lives of a man and woman both on the spot.
As per the report, the man and woman both was around the age of 80s hails from Cowes in the 1st vehicle, and passed away at the accident scene. The driver of the 2nd vehicle who is a Cranbourne North man was charged with 2 counts of guilty driving and 1 count of possessing a drug of dependence. The police arrested the man and he has been presented in remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
