EFF Councillor Shot Dead: There has been a sad demise of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Ward 20 councilor candidate who is Msunduzi Municipality who has been shot dead, Thulani Shangase was shot on Sunday in the afternoon at the Herwood area in Caluza which is in Pietermaritzburg. According to the chairperson of EFF Umgungundlovu Region naming Mzwakhe Mpulo has stated, Shangase was shot as he was there to have a meeting with the party agents, it was stated Mpulo that he went to the shop where they were waiting to meet, he further stated it has been told by the people who were present there at the meeting. He received a phone call at the time and he went outside to answer it and then he got shot, Mpulo further stated, they cannot confirm if his killing is related to politics, they are waiting for the police in order to find out as to what has happened to which might have led to the killing. There is a lot of political intolerance which is existing in the Edendale area but it is not known as of now if this is related to politics, this has been a huge loss for the whole party, he was a pretty har working politician and his main aim was to help the communities who require assistance from the government.
He stated they are not going to rest until they find the truth about who has killed him, he stated that they are going to push the authorities in order to find answers as quickly as possible, it seems like no one has been arrested as of yet. There are going to be further revelations in the case as we hed on in the coming days and weeks.
