Only bad news is constantly coming from all around as one side India is struggling with the ongoing pandemic the cases of Wuhanvirus are rapidly increasing and on the other side, the news of Earthquake is registered in India. On Wednesday, an earthquake that hits Himachal Pradesh with a magnitude of 2.7 on the Richter magnitude scale was registered. The earthquake was registered at 5:04 PM in Dharmashala, According to and the National Centre of Seismology, the epicentre was east-southeast of Dharamshala. The depth of the earthquake epicentre was 28 km and somewhere was 5 Km. Not only in Dharamshala but in the several cities of Himachal Pradesh witnessed the earthquake.
The earthquake was felt in several places like northeast of Kangra, Palampur, Jogindarnagar (Mandi), Kulu, Hamirpur, Mandi, Shimla also in some parts of Punjab. The good news is that no big damage is registered yet which means the lives of the people are save and no big harm has happened during the earthquake. Himachal Pradesh is not only the state where the earthquake was registered there is other states also where the news of earthquakes is coming.
An enormous earthquake of around 6.4 magnitudes hit the state of Assam on the same day. On 28th April 2021, Wednesday morning the shaking was felt in north Bengal and Meghalaya as well. The earthquake caused extensive damage in the state of the northeast as per the sources. The shaking was felt in all the region like the northern parts of West Bengal and adjacent Meghalaya. The tremor was hit the district of Sonitpur around 7:52 AM in the morning.
The two more twitches of 4.4 and 4.3 magnitudes at 7:53 AM and 8:10 AM. Many parts of the district felt the consequence of the enormous earthquake as the people come out of their houses in anxiety. In Tezpur, the district head offices of Sonitpur and other locations many buildings have cracks on their walls due to this earthquake. The chief minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal stated that”Massive earthquake hits the state of Assam and I am praying from the god for the wellbeing of the people and wish everyone to get alert and I am taking the updates of the other districts in order to find out that how much it affected the region.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to the chief minister of Assam to know the update of the district. PM also tweeted on his social media, ” I have spoken to CM of Assam regarding the earth tremor in the parts of the region. We are assuring all the possible help to the state from the Centre. Hope the native of the Assam is safe and praying for their well being.”
