As per the sources, an incident took place on 15 December 2021 in Gangtok. Jn the incident, a man has stabbed a cardiologist Dr. Sanjay Upreti and his attendant. The suspect has been identified as Thinlay Bhutia. The man is currently in police custody where he is being questioned regarding the incident. The victims have been identified as Dr. Sanjay Upreti, a cardiologist, and Kalawati Chhetri, an attendant. They both were serving at governs STNM hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment. They both are in critical condition. Their family members are praying for their well-being.
The police officer revealed that they both are on ventilator support. The families of the victims have been informed by the police. They are stunned after hearing the news. All his friends and family members are really worried about them. They are praying for them and hoping for them to get well soon. The police reported that the man has stabbed the doctor and the attendant because his girlfriend refused to talk to him. The doctor’s surgery lasted till 10 pm on Tuesday night. The cops have filed a lawsuit against the man whose name is Thinley Bhutiya under sections 307, 326, and 353 of the IPC.
The victims were airlifted to Siliguri the next morning for better treatment. They were taken to the Neotia Superspeciality hospital. Thinley, the accused was harassing a girl, and when Dr. Sanjay tried to help the girl. The man stabbed him and killed him. Now, the condition of the victim is very serious.
