The body of the late Dr Chinelo Megafu has finally been laid to rest in a private cemetery in Lagos in the middle of tears. The mourners could not be able to hold back their emotions they broke down in tears. Co-workers and pals were spotted in white attire. The memorial funeral service was held for the deceased at the Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Obanikoro, on Thursday (21st April 2022), where the parents, friends brothers, and sisters of Chinelo were in attendance. Who Is Dr. Chinelo Megafu?
It would be remembered that Chinelo who was amongst the passengers who boarded the Kaduna-bound train that was attacked took to social media platforms particularly Twitter to ask for prayers at the time of the tragic incident. Her tweet read that “I am on the train. I have been shot, please pray for me.” Though some users of Twitter labeled it a joke and did not believe her and even called her a liar. Hours later, her friends asserted that she was assassinated at the time of the attack.
Michael Ajidahun her friend tweeted “Just woke up to unfortunate news. My friend just woke up to losing a close friend who was shot while on the Abuja-Kaduna train by terrorists. She tweeted yesterday that we should pray for her. Unfortunately, she did not make it. She was a doctor. I am heartbroken.”
Reacting, the Nigerian Medical Association, through a statement by its President, Prof Innocent Ujah, expressed grief at the news, stating it was one too many. “As an Association, we vehemently decry the worsening insecurity in the country which has made all of us and the netizens of Nigeria as a whole vulnerable to violent attacks by bandits, hoodlums, terrorists, and kidnappers who are presently having a field day causing us deep sorrows and serious pains.”
Chinelo was 27 years old and was about to relocate from Nigeria when she met her sudden demise. The photos of the funeral are presently making rounds all over the web and bringing tears to the eyes of the netizens.
