The worldwide famous teen climate activist Greta Thunberg has been circled by Delhi Police. Her tweet in the support of Farmer’s Protest in New Delhi after pop icon Rihana’s attention-seeking on this issue is slammed by the Indian government and an FIR has also been loaded against her by the Delhi Police. She had also shared a link to an article in this regard which is also igniting the fire.
Earlier, she had said on Twitter that she stands in solidarity with the farmer’s protest in India. And expressed her concern about how the internet connectivity had been shut down nearby the borders of Delhi. This statement was prompted after the probing of American Pop singer Rihanna that why this matter is not being talked about. Greta had also shared a CNN document link supporting her opinion that was removed after it became outdated.
Now, Delhi Police has filed an FIR against Greta charging her according to Section 153A(Promoting dissension amongst groups diverse on the ground of religion or race) and Section 120B(criminal conspiracy).
The Ministry of External Affairs of India stated that it is unfortunate that home affairs are being sprouted on the International level by some vested groups. The spokesperson of MEA, Anurag Srivastava urged that everyone should ascertain the facts properly, develop an understanding of the matter correctly before rushing to comment about any such matters. He also insisted that responses and comments from the celebrities on sensational social media hashtags must not be considered accurate or responsible.
After such responses from the Ministry, some of the famous Indian celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, and former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar started standing in the queue to support the notion from the government.
And not only the celebrities, but rather some of the Union Ministers have also aired the campaigns against the global reception of the farmer’s protest. The home minister Amit Shah even said that India’s fate can’t be decided on the basis of propaganda, it totally depends on progress only. He argued in the favor of achieving progress in a unified manner. Supporting him, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal commented that international forces are afraid of India’s growth which is why they conspire to weaken the country in terms of democratic strengths.
