After learning the passing news of their former member of their Board of Education, the district spokesperson released a statement in which he said that “The district will have mourn counselors in schools on Monday, 10th January 2022 in order to support pupils and staff as they process their unexpected tragic loss.”
The district spokesperson further added that “The family would like donations in the memory of the Prieto Family to be given to charities of Autism Awareness.” Danielle Preto worked out her term on the board recently and did not run for re-election. She has also 2 other sons. Dr. Christine Burton, Superintendent of School stated that, “Danielle cared so much for pupils, teachers, and the district in her service on the board and the several projects for which she advocated.
“She had a kind and generous heart that was reflected via her volunteerism and her noble donations for the welfare of the district. She was an important and wonderful asset to our community and will be highly missed immensely,” a resident wrote on Facebook. “He further added, “Let’s remember to be kind and helpful to our staff and administration and Board of Ed members as they go through this tough and terrible time.”

It is with great sorrow that the Millburn School District shares the news of the loss of ex-Board of Education member, Danielle Prieto, her spouse Alfred and her son, Antonio, in a highway accident yesterday.
Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Christine Burton stated that “Danielle cared so much for pupils, teachers and the district in her service on the board and the several projects for which she advocated. She was kind in nature and had a big golden heart that was reflected through her noble cause. She and her family will be sincerely missed by all who knew them. We send our deepest condolences to her mourning sons, Roberto and Alec, and to all of her friends and family.”
