In an interview, she revealed that she entered the Miss Universe Jamaica pageant on her father’s advice. On the night of 31 October 2021, she was declared the Miss Universe Jamaica 2021 at Riu Montego Bay hotel in St. Jame. After the pageant’s grand coronation, she told Jamaica Observer “I’ve always been a fan of pageants since I was a little girl. My dad was the one who pushed me to enter, and he must be proud right now.” She added that she is very serious about women’s affairs and she is going to focus on women’s affairs during her reign.
She has also won the sectional prize Most Photogenic. She said that she is fond of reading and loves beaches and swimming. She used to participate in swimming competitions in her school days. Trishanie Weller was announced the first runner-up and Lauren Less was announced the second runner-up of the competition. Daena Soares was crowned by Miqueal-Symone Williams, Miss Universe Jamaica 2020. She was sponsored by Moses Chybar of Icon Megastore, based in Westmoreland.
