Some people took fast at the beginning of this festival while some were not. This festival will also be known as Vasant Navrati. The whole festival was a nine-day long occasion that is dedicated to the worship of the nine avatars of Maa Durga.

Devotees observe fast and worship the goddess Durga during these days. This festival was start on the first day of the Hindu Luni Solar calendar and falls in the month of March or April. Navratri was considered to be the first month of the year according to the Hindu Calendar. When it was about to be over, the last day will be observed as a Ram Navami in which Lord Rama has taken birth on the earth. Some devotees start celebrating this festival in the month of September or October because they have to conduct some pujas before starting to celebrate this festival.
When the festival was about to be over, many people called the second last day Ashtami according to the Drik Panchang. That day was the most important day for the Hindu people. During nine days, they are given different names in rituals. According to rituals, they are:

- Day 9 : April 10 Rama Navami
